    Light Bar suggestions?

It must look like Close Encounters of the Third Kind coming in for a hot touch-n-go when you roll past a speed trap. Love it.

LR4 not garaged - should it be covered?

To @Quijote’s point about a light and loose-fitting cover, I am pretty sure that someone makes covers out of Tyvek material. I would look for something like that.

    Feels Like LR4 is Braking

Don't get mad at me for asking but you're not putting it into Command Shift mode while driving are you? That will definitely create engine braking that is very effective. At any rate it does sound like a transmission-related effect you're experiencing.

Rhino OX Hitch Torque Specs - Who knows them?

I found my instructions and will cut to the chase with the torque values first and then try to attach a scan of the Fitment Instructions for future reference in this thread. Step 6: First tighten the 40mm bolts to close the gaps Tighten 75mm and 100mm bolts to fit Tighten 40mm bolts to fit...

LR4 not garaged - should it be covered?

All personal taste here, but if I were forced to park outside and only drove it 1/wk, I would cover it. We have a couple of huge crepe myrtle trees in our driveway area and during the blooming season they drop a ton of blooms. But that said, some people take more of a honey badger approach to...

    Voyager Rack Ladder Nightmare

I really like the look of the stock ladder position (regardless of whether the ladder is OEM or aftermarket). But I’ve seen enough images like this to worry about hidden rust. At least with the ladder I have mounted on the other side, I can see what’s going on at all the attachment points and...

How to turn on sound when locking doors?

Haha “squeaking sound”...mine squeaked so badly that it was embarrassing. I wanted to scurry with my head bowed at least halfway to the store before pressing the lock button (j/k, but close). Finally hit it with some dry lube so now all I hear is the satisfying servo whine when I lock. I was out...

    2010 lr4 Bluetooth?

That’s a cool device worth checking out. However I would disagree that not needing power is its advantage over the Kinivo. It does require power...from the USB. So it is still plugged into two separate locations (USB and AUX) just like the Kinivo (12V port and AUX). The apparent advantage of...

    2010 lr4 Bluetooth?

I've done a few writeups on the Kinivo BTC 450 (now available as 460 and 480) which I used and loved in my 2011 LR4. Yes it has a cord that goes from the AUX and power port in the back of the center console. But the cord is very thin and easily tucked into trim slots. I positioned the master...

Struggling with Gap Tool Transfer of Ownership

In my experience the process for transfer of ownership was very unintuitive, as in extremely unintuitive. I encountered the same confusing instructions on the website. It turns out the process is not fully automated and it requires an email from Patrick the developer in order to complete the...

    HD vs non-HD package LR4

A standard spec FS spare will fit under the LR4. Once you start getting into the more aggressive sizes then some deflation is required and it can still be tight. Certain aftermarket hitch setups (like my Rhino hitch) will also eat into the available space. That said, my FS spare fits fine at...

Delete me please! Climate Control Issue

Just ignore it; the rest of us will. It happens and sometimes the admins take care of it and sometimes it just eventually scrolls off into the ether.

(UPDATE) First Winter with the girl and...

Interesting, is this the first time on the forum we've heard about a TSB on this fuse change? Maybe I missed something. I thought we just had a discussion about the risks of going from 30A to 40A; in fact I'm sure we did. I keep mine in a garage 99% of the time unless I'm visiting poor...

    HD vs non-HD package LR4

The rear locking diff is the key component that comes in the HD package. Your vehicle does have 2 spd transfer case w/Low range. Your setup is just like mine (2013) in that regard. To your final question: Yes, they did.

    HD vs non-HD package LR4

Great point that lots of gear could be ported over to a “new” LR4.

    Got some wheel/tire questions

I understand the theoretical arguments but find it hard to believe that 0.3” difference is going to matter in the real world. Go with what looks best to your eye and tastes. Personally I think your current 19’s look more off-roady than the 20’s but that proves my point. Make it your own...or...

    Got some wheel/tire questions

Really the only practical (vs stylistic) difference between the 19 and the 20 is tire selection as you have seen. If you can fit TerrainContacts on the wheels you like, then given the use case you described, I think you will be very happy. I have a similar profile and I love the TerrainContacts...

    Got some wheel/tire questions

BTW, I like the current 19's you have. They look to be a lot easier to clean because of the wider openings between spokes. I have the 10-spoke alloys and it's tedious to clean them. The 20's you're considering have some crevices but they benefit from the fact that big parts of that style are...

    Alarm Going Off Randomly

News to me. I thought it armed every time I locked it with a single press. That would be the expected behavior from a UI standpoint IMO.

    Looking to purchase - 2012 - LR4 - Advice

Sounds like sound reasoning to me, mixed in with the obligatory dash of rationalization that all Land Rover owners are prone to. I’d have to agree. Pull the trigger, reach for the pills, and don’t look back.

5 cent paperclip-- must not be Land Rover OEM issue. Good thing you're outside of warranty period, mister.
