All these random stupid issues with the CPO and factory warranty makes me glad I didn’t get either. This forum has been more than I’ve ever needed so far and when things get beyond me/us to the independent mechanic I will go!
I believe something along the lines of "WTF" is required here. Where do they get off asking $245 for a software update that will resolve a known issue? Especially since you're under CPO. Ask them if they get service packs for their computers for free (they do) and they ask them how a patch...
There have been a lot of tire discussions and I think some folks have just gotten curmudgeonly over the tire debate. Either way, welcome to the LR club!
you might find some more info in this thread...
LOL - looking at the left front fender flare it seems that it was a front end impact. I noticed it lists "Mechanical" damage. Probably a blown engine too. :(
I really want the defender to be awesome. I'm looking at it as my future vehicle to succeed the LR4 (as it will become the family toy at that point) but maybe I'll just get another LR4 if they fail on the Defender front.
Land Rover Defender 2: Conquering terrain at ridiculous speeds.
Why do I care if I can drift/slide/race a tank like this? I feel like the need for speed has exceeded the need for crawl and succeed.
The only thing that would get me out of my low mileage '13 Black with Almond right now would be to find a '16 with HD + Almond interior + Adaptive Cruise Control and low mileage. These are impossible to find.

Ford won’t come back to help LR get into the truck market. They just brought back the Ranger and now the Bronco is coming back. They need their space and having a lux LR competing at close to their non-lux price is highly unlikely.
I never have but my wife's XC90 is in dire need of suspension rebuild and I'd agree that it's a dream getting back into the LR4 after a few hundred miles in that Volvo. There's no way I'd want to run that as a DD
Top Gear just posted more info.

seems air suspension will be an option not default.
Yikes. I'd argue that the dash coming out isn't a "trim piece"...that's a pretty significant piece. I don't know if they have a TSB on this or not but if they do it should be CPO covered in that case.
