    Death Wobble

Should I just get teh kit and change them all? http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/9721.cfm

    Death Wobble

Nope, tires are slightly oversized but not large at all. I'll get a front end alignment and wheel balance after changing the panhard bushings though just to be sure. Thanks!

    Death Wobble

No I haven't. I'll give that a try next. I'm going to try to get teh Disco into the shop tomorrow to have the rotors turned.

    Death Wobble

Thanks Joey. That was my first conclusion also, but the shaking is extremely violent at 55 to 65 mph and does not let up if I let off the brake pedal or speed up. At low mph the brakes surge. Could it be the front drive shaft? Should I try removing the driveshaft and see what happens?

    Death Wobble

I followed this procedure for the swivel pins: http://www.fag.hiof.no/~frodehaa/swivelpinpreload.htm It seems to have fixed the death wobble when I hit bumps at speed (55 to 65 mph). But I am still getting the death wobble when braking at speed (55 to 65 mph). I am driving a 97 Disco with...

    Shocks

I changed all four shocks and the front steering stabilizer in about three hours yesterday. Instead of compressing the coil springs on the front, I just removed the shock tower and took the shocks out from above. The driver side front took less than 1/2 an hour. The driver side rear took the...

    Shocks

Thanks Mike! Yes, I planned on doing it myself. I just didn't want to put all day Saturday into it. Usually if something is supposed to take 3 hours it will take me at least double. I bought OEM replacements. My Disco is more of a commuter and grocery gitter than an off-road vehicle. It's...

    Shocks

Thanks Joey. I guess I was hoping for something that would motivate me to do it myself. Maybe I'll take it to a shop. The front shocks are shot, they move about 3/4" above the top of the shock tower. kinda scary, and dangerous too.

    Shocks

Anyone changed front shocks? Does it really take 3 hours:http://forums.landroverworld.org/showthread.php?t=3145

    97 Disco SE7 Runnning Hot

Thanks Greg. I changed the t-stat but didn;t cure the problem. Water pump is on order. I'm not loosing coolant so I am pretty optimistic.

    97 Disco SE7 Runnning Hot

My Disco has been running warm after about 1/2 hour of city driving. If I turn the heat up to high and rev the engine to over 1500 RPM the temp will come down to normal range. The a/c condenser fans are working. Is this a thermostat problem, water pump, or fan clutch? Any thoughts?

    Replacing Ac condenser fans

I replaced my non-working fans with off-the-shelf fans from Trak-Auto. They fit well, almost like a dorect replacement. My Disco would overheat if idling with a/c on in warm weather. The condensor fans cool the condensor, if the fans do not work then the heat from the condensor is absorbed by...

    Shaking at 65-70

The stabilizer is black. I haven't balanced the wheels yet, but I was paying closer attention to the shaking and it happens after hitting pot wholes, small bumps, or when I slow down. This happens no matter the speed. I'm thinking about replacing the stabilizer and then taking it in for a...

    Brake Caliper 97 Disco

Thanks - I just replaced the right front today. Drained and replaced the fluid from the whole system, all is good again.

    Braking stops the NOISE?

I just changed my leaking caliper today. I have the same noise problem after having new pads and rotors installed. One of the pads had completely seperated from the metal base plate. I am going out to get new pads tomorrow, but I'm sure that's the noise causer.

    Brake Caliper 97 Disco

I'm leaking some fluid on the right front. I'ts not the hose. Is there such a thing as a caliper rebuild kit or do I gotta buy new?

    Shaking at 65-70

113,000 miles. I don;t know if the stabilizer has ever been changed. I bought the truck with 97,000 on it a few months ago. I'll get it in for a wheel balance this week. Thanks!

    Another cooling system question

It's definately the fans, I have power to each. I am assuming that the sensors are working since I have power. My thought is that the sensors don't know if the fan is OEM of aftermarket, as long as the fan is 12v it should work. I hear you about the cfm, but the truck doesn't get warm unless...

    Shaking at 65-70

My 97 Disco has new tires installed by previous owner. There is a shake at 65 - 75 MPH. I thought I read something on this site about replacing the front stabilizer as this is a common problem? Maybe I was dreaming, I can't seem to find the thread or the info.

    Another cooling system question

I finally got around to trying to fix these fans. Bad news, the fan motor is sealed and not accessible. In my search for replacement fans I think I have decided to go with a "high performance" after market for half the price as OEM. Any thoughts?

    Another cooling system question

Thanks Joey. I think it's worth a try to save $700. I'm heading out on vacation, but will try to fix them when I get back. I'll update you all on the results in couple of weeks.

    Another cooling system question

My fans are not coming on either. I checked the fuse, I have power at the fan. I see these are $350 each - is it possible to clean up the brushes and rotors to get the working again? WHat about just replacing the 12v motor?
