    Showoff Your LR4

It was at Summit Point Motorcross Parkway in West Virginia. They have a bunch of trails used for training of the military. You can't 4x4 there as an individual unfortunately, only with chartered groups. It was a lot of clay(ish) mud, but was definitely fun. Especially the pit of despair...

    Showoff Your LR4

A few pics from Recent LR Off Road Event in WV Was fun times! Several folks with flat tires and one ripped rear bumper. I got away with just a few pin stripes and a great day.

Uh Oh! Help with diagnosing sudden offroad LR4 Trauma?

So, It turns out there wasn't any issue the dealer could find. Which perplexes us. We clearly saw the clear liquid, the car definitely almost shut down, error messages popped up, the suspension automatically lowered, terrain mode reset and the car drove funny for the remainder of the trip...

Uh Oh! Help with diagnosing sudden offroad LR4 Trauma?

Hey Folks, So, took the LR4 on the beach today. We are on vacation in the Outer Banks away from home and any dealerships. I let my other half drive because she has a blast. And I'm not just saying that. We did some dunes and then we went on a bunch of soft sand that might have had ruts...

    Snow mode

Great question. I actually had a bad experience last month with snow mode. Might have been driver error of course. But basically about 20-30 feet behind a vehicle in front of me stopped at a stoplight. I was going maybe 10-15 mph as I approached and hit the breaks. The car just started...

    Multitude of problems

So, I've put my LR4 through alot, I have 10k miles, and I look for trouble. I took it too hardcore on the beach a few months ago and have had some problems. I blew out the front light fixture. I've also been thru a few dealer events and some other random 'offroading'. I'm all stock...

different tire pressures front vs rear tires?

I don't know for sure but a quick guess is that the standing or potential (if towing?) load on the rear tires is greater than that up front?

    2011 LR4 Voice Controls

It's very bizarre that they just got rid of it like that. Almost suspicious. I can say though you aren't missing much. Have never used it successfully and when I've tried it does bizarre things. It's mostly good for a laugh with family in the car to try and get it to do something you actually...

    Should I Change Vehicles?

Get the LR4! But yeah, wait a year and it will depreciate lots. Or get it now and enjoy it for a year more ;) Just don't regret your decision. I have 10k miles on mine, and have gone offroading. I think I beat it up a little too much over the last few weeks at the beach, but thanks to...

    Hood Wind Deflector Install

Wow. Very seamless. Awesome job. I have the white LR4, I do love the black though. So what precisely are you gaining from this install? Just less bugs to the windshield?

    Leaving tires at low PSI?

Allodial, Clearly I don't have the experience you do on beaches since you live on one. But I can say that just about every forum and 'expert' i've run across has said the #1 thing you can do to prevent getting stuck is to air down. Even the locals in Carolla/Carova who go back and forth every...

    Jeep Wrangler vs. LR4

Thanks for the input all! Disco Mike --> Nope, I haven't been around rovers much at all. Except the last 6 months. But it's been a blast. Rob --> You always find amazing information. That really helps understand things. I've been out at the beach here for 2 weeks. I've seen probably 100...

Query about approaching flooded dips in off roads

Thanks Rob and Captain Spalding! Advice taken! I'm in the middle of nowhere (can't even get the car washed) so no dielectric grease around here, nor time for me to figure out how to use it and where to put it (and most importantly where NOT to put it) as I'm not yet a gearhead with this...

Query about approaching flooded dips in off roads

Is it bad then when the water comes over the top of the hood of the car? Is the idea to create the perfect wake outwards? Feels easy if you are crossing a stream, but more difficult when you are confronted with a road that has an unknown depth and a sudden drop of murky waters. I actually did...

Query about approaching flooded dips in off roads

Hey Folks, I've been driving around in lots of sand roads behind the dunes in NC. Many of them are flooded at their lower points from a storm a few weeks ago. It's not salt water. Anyways, I know the standard stuff about how to approach these by looking for familiar landmarks, trying to go...

    Clear Bra

Go naked! Pinstripes are like little badges of honor for the Land Rover! ;) Sounds interesting though. I got the impression Clear Bra was one of those fabric covers for the hood, but looks like it's more of a seamless outer transparent layer which does sound intriguing. Was looking for...

Advice - Take off front bumper cover BEFORE you go 4x4'ing

Hey Folks, Just a tip for those going off road that haven't read the manual through. There is a cover under the front bumper that you can easily take off that expands the width of the bumper and hides the front recovery point. Apparently, I didn't take mine off and lost it four days ago...

    Leaving tires at low PSI?

Thanks folks. Yeah, 22 is working great on all varieties of sand/dunes here. I've almost been trying to get stuck and haven't succeeded yet. Could be if I air down more though the engine won't have to work as hard?

    Leaving tires at low PSI?

Hey Folks, I actually have an LR4, but figured I might get more insight here. I'm at the beach for 2 weeks and every day I spend hours driving on the 4x4 beaches and in the sandy, flooded dunes. I've got my tires down to 22 PSI and I'm curious what the issues might be if I leave them...

    Headrest - how to adjust

I've been unable to remove the rear headsets to install some dog proof covers. Our front seat headrests are unadjustable as far as we've been able to tell. We have the DVD package though with the LCD screens on the backs and I think that's why.

    Pics Of Your LR4?

    Satelite Radio Question

Yeah, that's one of the annoying little user interface issues on the LR4. No way to fix that as far as I know 'cept via a firmware update from Land Rover which I doubt they'll issue.

    LR4 On The Beach Advice

Hey folks! And maybe I haven't hit really hard stuff yet. But I seem to be unable to even try and get stuck ;) Been hitting the beach and dunes for 4 days in a row now thru deep soft sand, and hard packed sand, into flooded soft sand roads with lots of hills and mud and this car just refuses...
