2016 LR4 ran out of gas, how to clear CEL?

Thx, it went away on its own the next day. My wife had the vehicle so i'm unsure of the # of ignition cycles used that day, but I'm positive it was far less than 50. Just wanted to share. Thx again.

2016 LR4 ran out of gas, how to clear CEL?

Hi all, Last night, the wifey ran out of gas on the highway (just a single mile away from home! Ugh), and it's been perfect since filled up again, but the Check Engine Light is on and remains on. It's been switched on an off maybe 6 times thus far since it happened. Will the CEL go away on...

    LR5 Release Updates?

I was told by one of the owners of my dealership that the drop in demand in China during the 2016 fiscal year caused JLR to shift a ton of cars to the US that originally were earmarked to be produced and sent there. This is why some of you have seen quite a lot of LR4s on dealer lots the past 6...

LR4 sales are on a tear

Yes, but you've had good diesel choices for all the models since day 1! So that pretty much cancels out any advantage across the pond :)

2015 side step -- really a side impact safety feature?

I like how when viewed from the side, they look like just a floating straight line. Clean and no bull. And on a white/silver car it "matches" the paint, kinda look. I like that. I also like that they don't protrude too much, which doesn't look good to me (sorry to all you fans of aftermarket...

    Front park sensors sometimes late/nonfunctional?

But the P button is illuminated during the times when I expect it to beep (and show the display too), i.e. the car is doing <10mph. So it seems I'm echoing PaulLR3's findings. If the P button is lit, there's no reason for the front sensors not to detect and beep for anything in front of...

LR4 sales are on a tear

Yeah, those days had much cheaper gas, and much less competition. Also, when I said "in history for the model" I meant LR4, meaning sales prior to 2010 MY don't count. Just clarifying... Anyhow, speaking of, 2015 was pretty darn good with over 9000 sold, and guess what: April 2016...

LR4 sales are on a tear

The April 2016 sales figures are in: 987 LR4's sold in America. That's the 4th highest monthly sales figure in the model's history (after #1 March '16, #2 Dec '15, and #3 Feb '16). Same story for our Canadian neighbors up north: Last month's sales (73) was the 3rd highest in history, after...

2015 side step -- really a side impact safety feature?

Also I am not sure why the majority don't like the 2015+ steps. I think they look great. They certainly do on white LR4's !

2015 side step -- really a side impact safety feature?

Umberto that is such a good idea! Thank you. I will try to remember to always park it in the off-road height, because, well, how should i put this nicely...the average person who I have to share parking lots and garages with...let's just say, they can kiss my :bootyshak with their respect for...

2015 LR4 Car and Driver article

What the...? What's wrong with these C&D reviewers, complaining about the intrusive DSC that is leading to a .65g result on the skidpad? Their own publication when testing a 2010 yieled .78, I easily assume simply by TURNING OFF the system? Hello? Anyone home guys? lol...

    NAV8 vs SCV6 Comparison

By any chance did any of you notice a difference in the ride/suspension feel, or body composure, between the V8 LR4s and the 2014+ ones? I need to try a 2010-2013 again but back-to-back with my 2016, but I swear, it seems as if LR tightened things up a bit. I just simply recall on my 2011-2012...

    NAV8 vs SCV6 Comparison

Yeah, in general I like C&D, but that is a pretty terrible article. They claim super-intrusive DSC is getting in the way of their skipad testing, ok so TURN IT OFF and try! :stupid::smile:

    NAV8 vs SCV6 Comparison

That's true Surf, but the mere fact that you simply cannot get the V8 with the 8speed, nor the V6 with the 6speed, makes it a real comparo. It is just about the 2010-2013 vs 2014-2016 cars in terms of the important factors (for a luxury ride) of accel, smoothness, range capability, response, etc.

    NAV8 vs SCV6 Comparison

Compare acceleration numbers, you'll see how extremely close they are (and the 0-30 are equal), V8 LR4 (2010) vs SCV6 LR4 (2015). No idea why their 2015 test car was so freakin heavy, makes no sense. Anyway: V8 LR4...

    LR4 Re-purchase (2011 to 2016)

We all can say whatever we want about the 5L V8, but 12/17 is a far cry from 15/19. Sure, some of it has to do with the new tranny, the dropping of the HD pack as standard, and the stop/start, but it just could not continue across the lineup for the "standard" engine. This SCV6 for response...
