If stock it could be your LCA hydro bushings giving up the ghost. They are oil filled. Need to get on the ground and get some pics. Feel around with your hands, it's the Land Rover Experience. :) -

Oil filter cap
It's the bypass valve in case the filter gets clogged the pressure will depress the spring and your engine will still get oil flow. Dirty oi is better than no oil. Wix, Mahle or Mann for me. Never used a Delco so dunno. -

You can see in the video just how much more sophisticated the big Merc's chassis and suspension are. To be fair JLR simply didn't have the money to create anything better. Also that is a pretty old Jag chassis. I imagine the next gen may have been better? Anyhow that supercharged Merc engine... -

My brother was fanatical on the XJRs and owned a few nice examples. Then he stumbled across a good bargain CLS 55 AMG and it was game over for his Jag obsession. Jag XJR & CLS 55 AMG back to regular programming. Yeah that V6 sounds ok. -

So you put about 17k in it since 2017? $17000/84 months = $202 US/ month for upkeep. Doesn't seem crazy bad.. I'm at $107 Cdn/month ($75ish US) but I do most my own work and am thrifty. -

Look at the miles
I have seen a few LR4s with 200ish k miles still on original chains and tensioners. Hope to get there myself but likely the vehicle will deteriorate by that time. -

becoming collectible
I would want to confirm mileage. Only 12k miles yet the tires were replaced (April 2023 date code) . I guess due to age but suspicious? Don't believe anything you hear and only 1/2 of what you see? -

Run high mileage oil. That is the first step in "if ain't broke.." :) Are you 100% sure it is valve cover and not a leaking oil cartridge filter and/or assembly or vacuum pump? IMO The engineers found a great balance with the LR4 exhaust system. No exposed tips that reduce departure angle and no deep growl for the sake of it, it's not what the farmer mobile is about. -

Replacement Timing Chain/Tensioner Longevity Question
Good vid. Update on my 2010: 140 k miles and original chains are tight with no noise. If it makes 200k I have no complaints. -

I would think as an engineer you would be more interested in performance gains than sound lol. Will a cat back give you some gain? I get more than enough sound presence from my motorcycles, while in a cage I like my peace and quiet. -

Radiator Replacement
I must be the only LR4 owner who never had an issue bleeding the cooling system. A couple of breather ports and the tank. Easy peasy or I got lucky. -

Maybe. The tone of a "good" exhaust adds droning on the highway and that gets old fast. Unless there is measurable performance gains it's all for "look at me" factor. -
