Can I dump air while front passenger corner apart?

Gap tool saved the day. Deflated that strut and shock popped right in. Job is done....alignment in the morning. Wish I could do this one over...bet it would take 1/2 the time!

Can I dump air while front passenger corner apart?

Thanks all....I'll take another swing at it tonight.

Can I dump air while front passenger corner apart?

I have a gap tool....can it just depressurize one corner? I was originally thinking I had to let the air out of the entire system - depressurizing all 4 corners. I like the idea of only having one corner to bleed air out of.

Can I dump air while front passenger corner apart?

OK....so I'm a dumba$$....let's get that out of the way first. Truck is on jack stands - passenger front corner is disassembled. I am replacing my front lower control arms (bushings shot) and I forgot to dump the air before I started working. Now I have it all back together except I can't get...

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

I just welded a small plate/patch over that area and rattle canned it to prevent rust. Can't speak to the frame "changes" but I highly doubt it would have any impact on stiffness or strength. Might have some impact on tire entering footwell in an offset crash but that is hypothetical at best...

IID Gap - Messing Around with Ride Heights!

I did the same...one mode at plus 10 and one at plus 20. I have only used plus 20 thus far but have a 4 hour road trip coming up that I was planning to try the plus 10 for. I had the exact same revelation... "those dudes on the forum were right!" lol Plus, owning a GAP seems like a mandatory...

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

I'm getting ready to do that same. Got a vibration I can't seem to shake at about 55-65-ish. Been back to the shop for balancing twice. :( Might just put it back to stock and sell it....just acquired an Ultra4racing 4600 spec truck based on an '89 RRC which is far more fun :)

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

So just FYI in case anyone else is planning to really off road their rig - after this weekend, I am really glad I went the rattle can Steel-IT route. I ran Middle Fork of the St. Vrain trail outside Boulder. It is a pretty solid moderate trail. Had to really pick lines and stack rocks in 2...

GAP tool question (that has likely been answered already...)

yea....and after yesterday, I am thinking it is probably unnecessary. I ran a pretty rough trail yesterday and only once had an issue with it. I was hung up climbing on a rock and wheel spin put me over the limit. I just got a warning but no "automatic reset" to normal height. Spent 5 hours...

GAP tool question (that has likely been answered already...)

Searched to no avail. Can the max speed of off road mode be altered? I made 2 new modes last night - one is +10 and the other is +20. I'll use +10 for every day use and switch to +20 for trails. What I can't seem to find is a way to disable the max speed for off road mode. Maybe I am...

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

If you did end up going the spacer route, I can't recommend Bulletproof Off Road Adapters highly enough. I just got a set from them and they are a serious work of art. Made to order in the USA. Tough to beat. I would have preferred a wheel where spacers weren't needed but the price on a...

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

I just installed 265/65/18 Kenda Klevers that measure 31.77". They rub(bed) on the frame horns so I cut them out. Haven't tried to fit the spare yet.

For those that offroad their LR4...a few questions before I pull the trigger

Finally got the wheels and tires swapped out last night. Ended up with the Kelver RTs and landed on 265/65/18. I really wanted to go bigger - and probably will - but got a great deal on these 265's so I figured I'd start here. It will be interesting to see how these Kenda's hold up. They are...

Thoughts on 2021 Bronco as LR4 replacement?

Agreed...I had this conversation last night. When it becomes time, I will have to take a serious look at the new Bronco. When I bought my LR4, it was really the only vehicle that checked all the boxes I needed checked. With the addition of the 2.7 ecoboost in the Bronco, that definitely puts...

For those that offroad their LR4...a few questions before I pull the trigger

just a little update....after shoulder surgery and being grounded from this damn virus crap, I finally got the ball rolling on the LR4. I almost bought a disco 2 to play with - mostly because I love this LR4 too much to cut into it but.....:) BORA spacers were machined last week - should be...

Saw 2 today at flatirons LR in Colorado. Didn’t hate it as much as I thought I would.

Always though you had to do that with a tool such as Gap Diagnostics. If there is one, I have never found it.

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

Anyone running these Kenda Klever RTs? https://automotive.kendatire.com/en-us/find-a-tire/onoff-road-off-road/klever-rt/ At 70 less per tire than the BFG's I was about to pull the trigger on, I am thinking about trying a set. Load range E...nearly 10 pounds lighter then the BFG. Other than...

    LR 4 Retired

Ha! This is me to a "T". I don't put many miles on a vehicle. I had a 2500 HD GMC Denali with a duramax in it that I sold for nearly 40k to pick up a 21k '13 LR4 with the HD package with 87kmi on the clock. I was shopping for a used 4runner but after driving an LR4 (we used to have a RRS), I...

For those that offroad their LR4...a few questions before I pull the trigger

thanks for all the excellent info. Starting to think I'll start with a set of 265/70's, keep the stock brakes, throw the spacers at it with the LR3 18's and see how it goes from there. I will still do all the trimming and clearance work but after reading post after post, it would seem wise to...

For those that offroad their LR4...a few questions before I pull the trigger

Well....I'm back. Got my LR4 then proceeded to spend the next 8? 9? months on the road every damn week. Zero time to do anything to the truck except gather parts. I finally have a set of LR3 wheels, 1.25 spacers and a GAP tool. Looking at the strut spacers next, then tires. Tell me more...

    LR4 on 33's

Personally, I can’t get enough of that lr4 on 35’s. I want one bad....and I would absolutely use it in a manner to take full advantage of 35’s....but that is just me. I don’t have a commute and it is a 3rd vehicle for us. I bought mine specifically to trail it knowing that I would be modifying...

For those that offroad their LR4...a few questions before I pull the trigger

Great thought....out on the western slope now, then home Sunday in time to get to the airport for a Monday morning flight back east. Planning to get a full set of records next weekend when I get the keys for the trailer hitch thing and crossbars on the roof rack. I do notice the faint smell of...

    LR4 on 33's

Started following them last night....picked up on the 35 reference instantly. Oddly enough, in the night before's post, someone asked the tire size and they said 33's. Curious to see what it actually is. (and for the record, I only have instagram to keep tabs (aka spy on...) on my kids....lol)

every time I see that arb on your truck I like it more and more. Truth is, I have never been a big ARB fan....had one on my FJ80 and didn't really care for it but seeing this on your Rover has me changing my mind in a hurry.
