OK....so I'm a dumba$$....let's get that out of the way first.

Truck is on jack stands - passenger front corner is disassembled.

I am replacing my front lower control arms (bushings shot) and I forgot to dump the air before I started working. Now I have it all back together except I can't get the shock lined up in the arm. It is a solid 2" off. Thinking that depressurizing the system will make it easier to get the shock in place.

Other option is to undo the frame attachment points on the LCA, lower the arm, reattach the shock, then try to suck up the bag when I reattach the frame side. Guessing compressing that bag will be nearly impossible?

Passenger side sensor won't move when I depressurize (obviously) so the computer will only see movement on 3 corners - and even those will be screwy since the front corner is off the ground.

and I thought cutting the arm off the truck was going to be the hard part!

    Open to suggestions :)

pull the air suspension relay in the engine bay and then undo the air line going to that strut. undo it until you hear the air hissing but do it slowly. You don't want to undo it too much and let out the air too quickly.

You have a GAP tool, or are you talking about pulling the hose to the strut?

oh you could also take the air out of that strut from the front valve block located right there in the passenger front wheel liner. I believe its the green line for that strut. The driver side line is the black one. Same idea....unscrew it gently and let the air escape slowly.

I have a gap tool....can it just depressurize one corner? I was originally thinking I had to let the air out of the entire system - depressurizing all 4 corners. I like the idea of only having one corner to bleed air out of.

I used my GAP tool to depressurize the entire system, seemed fine (Solid on jackstands)

I still needed some leverage to get the strut up though, so I jacked it up using part of a 2x4 to push the strut up straight. I didn't want to sideload it much. Gotta be careful.

Use the gap tool and put it in build mode and deflate the corner as much or little as you need.

Gap tool saved the day. Deflated that strut and shock popped right in. Job is done....alignment in the morning. Wish I could do this one over...bet it would take 1/2 the time!
