Turned out that I had a damaged wire on the throttle body...it was shorting out and causing the problems. I must have slightly damaged it when I was cleaning the throttle body and it took a few months to get bad enough to short out. Take a good look at all the wires...mine are getting brittle!
Nice work!
My problem ended up being the switch for the upper tailgate. I bought a new switch on Amazon for $15:
Aramox Rear Tailgate Switch, LR015457 Rear Tailgate Door Release Handle Switch for Land Rover Discovery MK IV III https://a.co/d/42LjSFh
And found this powerfulukltd video super...
Thanks for the help! Here's a screenshot of everything with ignition off and slowly depressing the accelerator....the two abs throttles seemed pretty smooth. The tps voltage is way off though (see screenshot)... in the 30s.
I'm not sure how to run the relearn procedure for the pedal assembly. And I don't really know what the gap till is telling me. Should these percentages match? What's the best resource for learning about these settings? Is there an on line manual I can refer to? Thanks!!
I'm getting the same TPS code plus P2105:
P2105-00 - Throttle actuator control system - forced engine shutdown (A8)
P0122-00 - Throttle/pedal position sensor A - circuit low input (A8)
I replaced the mass air flow sensors and cleaned the throttle body about 6 months ago when it was throwing...
Yeah, still not sure if I'll actually pull the trigger but placed the order for now. Mine would be $97k. That surprised me....way more than its probably worth. For that money, my wife thinks we should get av8 defender.
I've also got my order in for the rivian r1s and it will supposedly be...
I test drove an r1s. Crazy power but the ride was terrible in my opinion. Felt sloppy and skiddish compared to my 2012 Lr4 with 155k miles.
I don't think the ineos will compare in ride quality either....
I also have a deposit on a Grenadier (and a rivian r1s). Got to sit in a grenadier last fall (early prototype) and I'm supposedly getting a test drive next month. I expect it to be great off road but I'm skeptical that it will have a comparable on road driving experience to the lr. I just love...
I agree! I drove an 06 LR3 to 150k miles with virtually no problems.... and then got my 12 LR4 with 20k miles on it in 2015. It's still my daily driver and regular off roader at 160k miles. Love these rigs.
I got the original prospeed rack in 2021, after waiting 6 months plus. Love it. Less wind noise and better gas mileage than the others. I have the aluminum floor panels and they've been great. Not sure about the redesigned version.
Hi all. I ended up just replacing the pcv valves and so far so good! It's revving normally upon cold start now. I was reluctant to buy the $25 pcv valves available on Amazon so I paid $55 each at my local land rover shop (not a dealer). Easy install.
Thanks all. Like @mrtp4, I know my truck well and this is not the normal slight revving that occurs during start up. I've been avoiding driving it in the cold since this started but will likely have to drive it soon. I'll take a video. In the meantime, I ordered the pcv valve replacement kit...
Revisiting this thread. My 2012 lr4 (148k miles) is revving much higher than 1500 for a few seconds (especially in the coldest of mornings, like 0 degrees f) and it freaks me out that it's really damaging the motor. It doesn't seem like there is a consensus on the problem in this thread. Anyone...
