    The dealer spent two days and could replicate the problem. Brought the truck home and couldn't get the key out again. It is something to do with some RF or IR interference. Could be a shot between the eyes for the LR3.

    Good suggestion. Yes my foot is on the brake but it doesn't need to be to take the key out. The brake interlock releases so you can shift out of park. Compliments of Audi legislation. The shift interlock sounds likely.

    The two dealers I've used in Boulder and Denver are sub par but I'm glad yours is good. It has such a huge impact on the ownership experience. No way three hours round trip is practical for me to have a daily driver worked on. I don't love anything that much.

    MPG on a V6

    I get 16.8MPG mixed driving and 20MPG on the highway at 75MPH. I think that's pretty good since my wife only gets about 2MPH better in her RX350. No roof rack, stock tires and 20K on the truck. Synthetic oil in the engine and diffs. I drove a V6 for 1K and saw no real differance in mileage.

    If you look at the receiver (female) for the passenger side hood pin there will be a small (20g) pair of wires to the bottom of it. It is either a contact or magnetic swtich. At any rate, in my case I just pulled, cleaned and refit the connection and it's fine now.

    In general, I tend to avoid force but I was getting ready to jump on the damn hood. At any rate, fixed it myself. Just a loose connection on the switch that is on the passenger side of the hood latch.

    I'm looking at a set of "take off" wheels or my LR3. They have the original tire pressure sensors in them. Will they sync with my LR3 when I put them on or do I have to get them re-synched at the dealer? thanks.
