I then disconnected the connector at the CJB and measured the resistance again at the horn connector. No short. I concluded then that the wire from horn connector to CJB connecter is OK...

    UPDATE: In the end, LR finally agreed that the battery was defective and they replaced it. I have not had any battery problems since then, that is, unitl a week ago (two years after they replaced the battery). The problem is back. I can't leave the LR3 parked for more than two days...
