2000 Land Rover Discovery Series II

New to the Land Rover family. My wife and I are buying a 2000 Discovery and I'd like to learn about it. I've always wanted one and this was a good deal (I hope) The lady said it makes lifter noise and the mechanic told her not to worry. That always worries me when they say that. 120K miles. Any input is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Lifter noise could be a couple of things... could just be the oil she uses, could be the oil pump is getting clogged (pickup screen that is) could be a bad rocker arm, I would have it checked.
