I just acquired a 2011 LR4 The water pump was recently replaced and 4 coolant hose sleeves replaced was told they are now metal.
I found a small coolant drip from the lower RH corner of the cover plate to the engine block.
I put a little torque to the fastener on the lower corner. I was careful to not to do much only about a quarter turn. It helped slow it down.
Any help on what the cover is for and what all would need to be removed to replace the seal on the cover.
Thank you
PS This is my first Land Rover

A picture would really help clarify things. Most common coolant leaks are going to be the front and back plastic pipes and lr049990 (pictured).

The Pulley I believe is the crank shaft
Any help fixing it will be appreciated.
Since it is small would some type of stop leak work?
It drips about 3 or 4 drops a minute.
Thanks

Shouldn't be any coolant coming from the timing chain cover, only oil. I'd add some coolant dye, I find the JLR pink coolant hard to see. I'd bet that the source is higher up on the motor. Remove the intake plenum and take a look.

Thanks for the conformation that the cover is for the Timing chain.
I didn't see any sign of leakage farther up but will look and see what the intake Plenum looks like. I disconnected bothsides

I looked farther up and found coolant seeping from small 90deg tube. Where it goes into valve. That is attached to the intake manifold throttle valve. I tried re seating it but it still seeps. I did not see any O ring or seal on it. Any help in identifying it and suggestions on sealing it will be appreciated. I attached a photo.
Thanks

Order a brass version of eBay it Amazon of LR049990.

You'll lose a bit of coolant changing it, but not a lot. I used a pair of vice grips as a hemostat on the skinny hose. The push-to-connect will come apart with a firm pull. You'll want to fashion a stubby pick that only has about an 1/8th of an inch long hook on it and pull out the current plastic collar and o-ring.

Push the new o-ring in followed by the new plastic collar. Insert the brass fitting into the hose and then the fitting. Refit the clamps, bleed the coolant system and you're done. Bleeding the coolant is the worst part.

That elbow and the way it holds in is one the most over engineered parts/assemblies on the LR4. Would have just been simpler to press fit a 90 degree elbow in and call it a day.

Thanks for the replies. I will go to the local dealership for parts. It is a little under a 2hr drive. for the insert and O ring. Now to find instructions on bleeding the cooling system. There appears to be a bleed valve with a little clip on the main upper radiator hose plastic part above the hose to the thermostat housing.
