2016 fuel pump failure after fuel tank flange recall

Our 2015 LR4 was having its 100,000k service and they called to describe the recall and said 2 of the 4 tabs on the pump we gone and was showing damage as though it was hit but none to the tank. They recommended a new pump and given the mileage I paid for a new pump. Not sure what happened to those tabs.
