Best tire for all conditions?

Off topic: I specifically told her we could only swing a CPO 2006-7 RR, and the interior could not be ivory. We have two boys, five and seven, and have a dirt/gravel driveway (i.e., muddy shoes). She not only won, she decimated me . The first weekend we owned it was really hot (100+ degrees), so I spend the day repeatedly layering Zymol leather treatment -six in total. This seems to have really helped.

I still have not come to terms with having a brand new loaded RR (plebian @ heart); but if it justifies the vasectomy so be it...

Dont sweat it. I have 5 kids and got a new RR in 06 after all its just a truck. I added the third row seats! Had it out on the trail many times. Just have to get the first nicks and spills and realize with kids theyre important... after all you can always buy another truck!! We just like to have fun with it.


I lost the vasectomy battle myself on Friday. Not Fun.

Nice forget my *******..... The third seat has been an option for many years. Overfinch USA has an easy install third seat. If you are interested I can give you a contact/

I just googled a RR web page showing the seat, thanks. It's rear facing, kids only. I got the LR3 because of the great rear seating: I put my mother-in-law back there without complaint, but then my wife and I each also sat there for a stretch. Our issue is 2 car seats permanently installed in the middle row leaves good room for one adult there, and the LR3's seat in thirds still permits easy passage to the spacious seat in the way-back.

Of course, I say we need a mini-van like every other family in denial. Better space utility and gas mileage. No van is as cool for the image as any Rover, though. I lost that one to my wife, but it did not involve anesthetic!

I just recall it as the Big V, but as for tires, the Coopers satisfy me more than the Nitto's and seem to be holding up better also.

HOWEVER, I don't think you can fit snow chains over them, so if your "all conditions" includes deep snow, bear that in mind.

I put my mother-in-law in the back seat of the RR if she complains I cant hear it since she is facing the other way PRICELESS

Or you could do both like us - minivan for the long road-only trips and daily use by my wife, and LR3 for the snow and camping trips. Really the only option for a family of 6. Nice to have two 7-seaters that fit easily in the garage as well. And the sliding doors on the minivan keep my LR3 from getting dinged by kids openning doors on the other car.

I have the Coopers too and like them better than the Nittos I used to have on there. I've been as deep as I think I'll ever go in snow with the Coopers and no chains and had no problem. I believe they are snow rated. Got me past the checkpoint on the way up to Big Bear with no problem anyway.
Pictures of when I had them on my Sport in the snow - they're on my LR3 now though.
