Hello everyone!

Here's my story: Recently I had an idling issue (very high). Took it to the dealership and they cleaned the throttle assembly and got the idle back to normal. Drove it home no problems, but when I went back out to start it there was a click sound, but wouldn't turn over. I checked battery cables and tried jumping it to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks for your help in advance...I have become a HUGE fan of this site!

I would still check the battery cables if jumping didn't help. I had an issue awhile back where my terminal had broke on the bottom and didn't notice it till I removed it to have a look... pain in the neck in a gas station parking lot.

Also check the ground cable going to the starter, they tent to get lots of corrosion.

and check yer ground connections. Check all of them - you have a bunch.

Okay don't know what engine you have here are some ground locations & other stuff to check out:

E100(SFI-v8)

RH front of engine compartment
> Fuse Box
> Alarm sounder (left side of the fuse box)
> Fuseable link (above batt.)
> Datalink connector / rh side of facia
> Ignition coil / top rear of engine
> Ignition control module / lh front of engine near the coil

Also, if your LR has the alarm system:

'THEFT ALARM UNIT (Z163) APPLIES A GROUND CIRCUIT TO THE STARTER SOLENOID RELAY'S (86) TERMINAL & PARK / NEUTRAL SWITCH (X167)

IF THE THEFT ALARM IS ACTIVATED, THE ALARM UNIT WILL INTERUPT THE GROUND CONNECTION TO STARTER SOLEYNOID RELAY (K137) IT WILL REMAIN DE-ENERGIZED AND PREVENT STARTING OF THE ENGINE'

Thanks everyone...looks like its time to replace the starter though. I fooled around with the grounds etc, but only got it to turn over after banging a hammer on the starter. It's going to the shop tommorow.

Thanks again for your suggestions.
