okay here are the symptoms....
I have the 3 amigos and they come on every now and then but it dosen't bother me much...
last night...I was driving (heavy rain) and all the sudden my rover shuts down with lights still on....but just quits...I roll to a stop, turn it off and back on...turns over effectivly but will not run. so I pulled off the hose going to the air box to check if maybe my filter is clogged (been in alot of dusty conditions lately and moisture might have finished it off)....after taking my filter out and running without a filter, turn it over and runs fine no hiccups or anything....drove it home boxed close hose intact no filter. Ordered a new filter was suppose to be here at 7:30am. To bad I work at 6a
This morning at 5:55a in a tight spot with nowhere to get off the road it shuts down agin this time my M and S gear signs are blinking my D (drive sign) on the console is blinking but the tranny is not engaging like it's shot and the check engine light is on...same as earlier turns over but will not run...so I take off the box and leave the hose...turns it over and I drive it to work about 2 more miles.
When I get to work I try to get a code (turn off turn on sequence) No code. Check engine light is on but not blinking.
Sometimes I swear my C-Diff lock light illuminates and I have it on my current tranny but I have no way to engage it unless I crawl under the car.
I'm thinking possible bad maf or dirty maf but with that I should get a check engine light code...I'm gonna run my code reader on it tonight and check agin.
My Rig is a 99 D2 aprox 104k miles ACE Hill Decent TC 4.0L Engine and my sunroof has been leaking a little

Ok read the codes as....
P0335 Crankshaft Sensor Position A Malfunction
P0734 Gear Ratio 4 Incorect
P1884 Manufacturer Control Transmission
P1590 Manufacturer Control Vehicle Speed Idle Speed control Auxiliary Inputs
I cleaned the MAF, I changed the oil (was due anyway), check some other things like plug wires and such things checked out...cleared codes....
Drove home Aprox 10 min and right at the bottom of my hill the car dies just like someone turned it off but no sputtering just bam! off....NO codes...I had the code reader with me and it didn't read any codes...no check engine light...this is kinda weird....
maybe heat related?
