First Jeep copies LR and now Ford too.

Yes, I did find it extremely odd that something based on the Taurus would have that knob.

Doesn't anyone find it odd that a front-biased AWD vehicle without a dual-range transfer case (that I could discern from the marketing hyperbole) even has a Terrain knob, much less a Mud & Ruts selectable?

At least the GC is still an off-road capable 4X4. The terrain response and air suspension on the GC is copied from LR (imitation is the sincerest form of flattery), and as others have said, LR has borrowed much from other brands over the years.

The new Explorer is a glorified Taurus. That said, it will be just fine for hauling the kids to the mall.

As owners of LR's we should be flattered that the other auto makers are copying details like that. And to be fair, I think that LR should copy/buy/steal the blue tooth technology from Ford, we all know that LR BTooth is a poor pathetic attempt to accomplish something that even Kia has been able to master.
