So I have had the LR3 at the shop for a dashboard squeek and a couple other minor issues. I dropped by this afternoon to do a test run with the foreman(really great guy) and we couldn't recreate the squeek. On the test drive, my driver side seat stopped working which I thought was kind of funny. When we got back to the dealership, we parked the car and the key wouldn't release. We started it again, put it in drive and moved the steering a little... A transmission fault came up on the display along with a flashing park break light... So my visit added two more issues to the list. I guess it will be there a couple more days. Any ideas on what would cause this transmission fault?

Well, I don't know why specifically but I'll bet the Transmission Fault and the fact that your key wouldn't release are related. What did it say in the Driver Info Center about the fault? Did it say "some gears not available" or any crap like that?

Bummer...but good thing the foreman was with you when it happened!

Just be thankful that you experienced that rare moment where things went wrong in the car while a mechanic was sitting in it.. instead of having to describe to the techs the problems that you are experiencing and they stand there with a patronizing "yeah yeah..Oh Im sure..." look.
