Help with radio code issue

Hey guys....just bought my rover Saturday....a 1996 Mars Red....apparently the radio went out in it, so the owner found another on in a salvage yard and installed it..... but of course it's asking for the code....I know the dealer can look it up by the VIN...but that would only work with the unit that was assigned to my rovers VIN........is there another way to get the code for the replacement unit?

You will need the serial number off of the back of the radio.... when you do get the code, write it down... anytime you disconnect the battery you will need it again.
