My 2002 DII radio is shot. It quit because it shorted out due to about $3 in coins stuffed into the tape deck by my 3 year old. This radio is an alpine unit part # XQD000120LNF . The system in the car is/was a 12 speaker 220 watt OEM unit (not the 320 watt Haarmon Kardon). When I purchased the truck they told me that the 320 watt wasn't available any longer.

I purchased a used radio off Ebay and it works, but it only has room for one COAX cable in the back, my old radio had 2 coax cables. The radio I purchased is a 2001 Alpine Part # XQD101400LNF.

The only thing that doesn't work on the new unit is that it won't power up without the key.

Questions..

1. Is the COAX cable that isn't being used the power supply for when the key is not in the ignition?

2. What is the difference between the 320 watt HK system, and my 220 Watt system (besides speakers)? Is the 100 Watt difference in the head unit, or the amplifier under the drivers seat.

3. Does anybody have any idea if I have the 15 watt speakers (each) or the 30 watt speakers? I fill figure it out eventually if this new radio blows out all the old ones. I think the new radio is more powerfull as it sounds much more responsive.

Thanks

John
