I have a nagging situation, the interior courtesy light and tailgate light would not come on when I open the doors or back gate, but if I physically push the on button, then all the light will come on and stay on forever. What would you think is the problem?

Thanks.

If you mean the small switch at the doors that will activate the lights, then my suggestion is a little spray lube... sounds like they are sticking.

I have checked around all the doors, and I didn't see any small switch anywhere. Is the 2001 Range Rover set up differently?

interior lights

I have checked around all the doors and could not find any switches anywhere for activating the interior lights when doors are opened. My RR is 2001 model, is it set up differently from others?

I know that this is a fairly old post but have just joined this forum. My mechanic said to press the centre button (of the interior lights console) for about 5 secs until a display comes up on the dash that says, "interior lights on". Voila! It worked for me. Hope this helps.
