This popped up a couple days ago on my subscription updates in YouTube. Thought it was worth sharing. I only recently got an iPhone myself. Seems like there's no limit to what you can do with this thing. Still looking for the automatic tire deflator app though...

Great Video and apps Boaz! Another one to add to your list is MotionX-GPS lite. Check it out here. http://www.motionx.com/

I use it on my iPhone when we are on the trails or just on vacation. You can record time, speed, average speed, max speed, pictures and play your iPod as well ! You can even upload your pictures and cordinates to your Facebook page or your MobileMe webpage.

Lastly, I found a way to upload the data saved to Google Maps and have a 3-D image of my trip! Pretty slick! great free app!

I mentioned this recently in a GPS thread:

I have an iPhone and I just use an app named Gaia GPS[1]. It lets you download and cache a pretty good amount of map (so that you can use it where you don't have a data connection), and it only costs $2.99. You can also upload your trips and photos from the trip to EveryTrail[2].

It's not a perfect solution, but I'm pretty happy with it (and it's cheap if you already have the phone). I have tried a few of the GPS apps, and this is definitely my favorite so far.

Here is a link of my maiden voyage using the app: http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=411341

Another nice thing is that it uses USGS maps with seamless stitching (but you do have to cache the area you are going to be traveling in).

Try accuterra. It's is fantastic and you can download hundreds of maps for free. All states, state parks; you name it you can download it. You will never have to worry about cell service.
