keyless entry problems

I'm having problems with my keyless entry for my 99 disco 1. I've already replaced the battery a couple of times and even went as far as to get a new key fob case and buttons. I think the ting will lock and unlock the car every other day if that, very inconsistant. any ideas?

i had same problem took to land rover dealer...it was like 150.

are there ever LR remotes for sale on eBay? I got a cheap one for my SVX for $45 on eBay, and they sell new for $145.

Check the solder points in the key fob... sounds like they are cracked. This happens to any thing that gets knocked around and not taken care of.... not saying that yours does, but it does hang off the key and moves around alot.....

it looks like there are some small crack in the solder on either side of the battery.
do you think i should reinforce these with more solder?

If you have feeling that it could make it worse, don't risk it, but I would do it myself, if it were my remote
