Water would have to travel quite aways o get to the driver side. Did you also check the upper a-piller trim? Each side could leak and bring water in.

Is there a TSB for the water ingress through the cowl/air filter area? I am going to try to attempt fix myself but made an appt at dealer this saturday just in case I can't.

How difficult is this job for a person who is limited mechanically and limited in access to tools?

Replaceing the cowl is easy. From memory all you need is a 10 or 13mm socket and wrench to remove the wiper arms. Everything else is just held in by clips. Pop the hood and pull off the A-Piller trim first. Many of us have added a piece of flashing to divert the water off, if it does make it past the cowling. For this you would need a way to cut down some flashing (I used aluminum). To mount it I drilled and pop rivited it into place. As far as I know there isn't a tsb for this but I haven't look on this one.

Ryan, is A-Pillar trim held in place only by clips or are there screws to take it off...do I just pull up on it?

Start at the top and just pull straight out. There are 3 contours on the trim piece. The center one has all the clips so you want to pull straight in that direction. At the very top is a locator pin. I believe that is the one they brake off and tape the hole. Electrical tape is what I used when I did mine 2 years ago...I didn't have any leaks I just did it as a preventative measure....
