So I have a 00 Disco that doesn't start. There is power to everything even the starter, but the engine won't turn over. Could it be something else rather than the starter? I wouldn't want to replace it if that is not what the problem is. Thanks

Try resetting the collision cut off button under the hood behind the washer fluid container. I had the same issue Thursday morning. No start, no power going to the starter, just a clicking and humming from the spider relay and alarm system. Lights did not dim when I turned the key to engage the starter so I knew that it was not getting any juice.
I hit the reset button and it turned over and fired right up.

Its on the firewall inside the engine compartment on mine (97 Disco). May be different on yours. Its a reset button that usually has to be set after a collision but sometimes with the alarm system things go a little crazy with the electronics.

If the engine does not turn over, I would have the battery and/or the starter tested. If both are good and the starter is not engaging or attempting to turn the engine over, then maybe a fuse or relay.
Problem happened to me again this morning. It wasn't the inertia **** switch it was the starter relay as Joey suggested.
The starter relay is behind the kick panel on the passenger side. I found it by turning the ignition key and listening for the relay (one of three lined up in a row) that clicked when I turned the key. I happened to have a couple of extra relays on hand so I switched out the relay that was clicking and put in a new one. It started right up.
Just to be sure, I put the old relay back in and tried it and nothing happened but the clicking of the relay.
