oil leak

i have a oil leak on my 96 disco,traced it back to a sensor.it is located above the oil filter.i was wondering what it is.also i have drained all the oil out,and took the filter off which my manual says to not take the filter off untill you put oil back in .is there anythink i should do special ,or just put oil back in and fire it up.

Sensor is the oil pressure sensor.

I recommend filling the filter as much as you can prior to installing it... prevents oil pump issues.
