In the process of launching an intensive family intervention ranch applying equine therapy. Needed three seat rows, off-roading (wild rough road we're on the end of), and towing power for a 7000 lb travel trailer. Will I make anyone mad to say I've been looking at the MB 450 (Blu Tec, of course). Land Cruiser too beefy for the little wife, same with the other Toyota and Nissan biggies.

So, any comments about the wisdom of my taking a serious turn into the L4 and this savvy and (apparently) fun, serious group? Biggest issue is the hauling. We'll be often driving nearby for nites away in the travel trailer. Any cautions by anyone who's done serious towing of 26'-28' tt's?

Am thinking of the 2010 model to ease the sticker shock. Would I get past the nuisance maintenance complaints I've heard of?

Welcome Harry!

I would re-post your questions to the technical section (LR4) of this forum.

No one will give you a hard time about looking at different vehicles. It's all part of the process.

While I don't specifically address towing, here's a review I posted about a month ago. Hope it helps.
