As per their web site you can use stock springs and shocks. You have to remember that larger springs and shocks do not give you more travel, it just gives you a higher ride height. You can acually have more travel from stock gear than with most aftermarket stuff, most aftermarket will be heavier which will not compress as far and basically not allow you to travel as much.

If you plan to due some serious off roading on a weekly basis, this wouldn't be a bad way to go, but remember for the cost of this you can do a lot of other upgrades.

As I was told a long time ago when I used to race R/C stadium trucks... Driving and experience will go a long way and a lot farther then any aftermarket upgrade that you can add. If you spend more time and money driving, than you do on upgrades, you will be a better driver and the upgrades will help more later on.

Just me $.02

Upgrades depend drastically on what you want to do... I just wanted a better ride and more height to install 31 inch tires... I went with OME HD 2" lift and bilstein shocks.... the OME gives me the ride height I wanted and the bilstens give me a good highway ride and feel in the corners. Larger tires gives me more ground clearance it does slow you down though and will effect fuel economy. A stock LR will go places most vehicles can't, so it just depends on how much you want to spend and/or do.

As far as R/C I use to own and race an RC10T2 electric truck, then I got into airplanes... I have 5 airplanes and 1 helicopter now. Then I got the ground bug again and picked up a couple OFNA 1/8 scale buggies, and for my aniversary I got a Losi LST monster truck.... 45mph R/C nitro toy.... got to love that.
