Spare Wheel Location

Ladies and gents,Would appreciate if anyone out there advised possibilities of having the spare wheel from my LR3's crotch and onto its back; something similar to the old D2 but on the right (good) side?** Could LR one day correct the asymmetry of the back window so as to allow the mounting of such spare where it should go.** Could LR propose a kit for this, something similar to VW and / or Porshe?* Not wishfull thinking if we agree to make enough noise for that purpose.Far from me the idea denigrating anybody but to get to the spare in this part of the world is not always very accommodating and we do with a lot of them.* On an 2008 HSE, I've already forked out for 3 No. GY HP's so far; it's not cash only, it's sweat and all as well.Best Regards to all.

Farouk1, it sounds as if you turned to the enthusiast community a little late, but better than never! Never buy another Goodyear Wrangler HP tire, please!

There are several mfr's of spare tire carriers, and they are all on the right hand side. Personally, I feel the liftgate design is brilliant for left-hand drive models, as it allows wonderful rear visibility (with the rear seats down). I would FAR prefer to keep the liftgate design as is, and put the swing-away tire carrier on the left. This is far more convenient when loading the truck along a curb, and, will not obstruct the visibility out the lower right corner of the liftgate.

Quite agree the assymetric liftgate is a fantastic idea and the spare wheel should be on the left hand side freeing optimal back vision; but what about the number plate and all. Should go on the right hand side, shouldn't it. Our plates as well as those of the UK, Europe'll fit beautifully well in that narrow strip with the lighting on the other strip immidiately above, the US don't. Thanks duckdive and drzjoint for the advice. My problem is that I'm not sure of a bumper mounted carrier of Rasta's; it looks so naf and not steady at all. If it's a body mounted swivel like for those vehicles I quoted in my previous post, with a bit of esthetics to agrement the car, it could go down very nicely with the owner elite of this type of car. How is that?
Pity about the GY HP's; I'd think they're good in Europe but not here even by keeping to the ashphalt only.
What do you think of the SA's (Silent Armour). Has anyone tried'em? I'm keen to adopt them for everyday use; told they're sturdy and durable in view of the prevailing conditions, hardly any mud or sand to speak of out here but harsh terrain.

The Rasta tire mount is pretty solid. I watched one cross the Lippencott Mine Road through Devil's Racetrack to Scotty's Castle via Tea Kettle Junction in Death Valley, which is about 150 miles of famously punishing washboard road, it was quite solid, with a heavier than stock 285/60/18 Nitto tire on it.
