Hey there everyone,

I own a 2006 LR3 SE, 55K on the miles, 31 months old.

The first time I received the HDC fault, Transmission Fault, and Brake light was about 25K on the miles and the car would not shift out of first gear in automatic. I had it towed to the dealer and about 10 days later they replaced a sensor that was making the computer think that the parking brake was applied. This was about 15 months ago.

Fast forward today, across the country, and I have the same problem except the car actually shifts in automatic. I do not remember the sensor they replaced and have a call into the service department at my previous LR dealership.

I'm wondering if there is a do-it-yourself fix since I am now out of warranty...I've read from various posts that it could be anything from changing the battery to changing the Rear Differential. Or is it possible just to take it to LR and expect the right answer the first time? (Last time this happened was three trips to the dealer).

Open to suggestions, including looking for a good place to take my LR to in Tucson AZ. (Just moved here).

It probably isn't the differential since you have an '06. How often does this happen? What happens when you "re-boot?" Maybe you can change the battery and see what happens...?

If it occurs when you first start the car, then it probably is the battery. If it occurs while driving, it probably is related to a height sensor. IMHO....
