Steering shimmy during brake application?

Hi Folks:
I have a 2006 LR3 with 70,000k. New brakes at 50,000K. When I lightly touch the brakes I get a shimmy in the steering wheel. I had something like this before in a different vehicle and it was a bad rotor. I was wondering if this might be the same problem or is there something specific to LR3.

Sounds like a classic rotor surface issue. Just curious, when you mention "new brakes at 50K", did that include rotors or just pads? Was the work done by an LR dealer (using LR parts) or aftermarket?
