My '05 LR3 is falling apart at 47,000 miles. All of the exterior emblems are eroding. My front passenger door molding has fallen off several times. The other day my 3rd brake light just fell off as I was driving on the highway.

The dealer said they wouldn't replace the emblems under warranty. The molding just snaps back on but I would like to secure it more permanently. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do that? The 3rd brake light did not completely fall off thanks to the electrical wire and rear windshield cleaner. I took it to my local body shop and they reglued it for me.

Contact cement for the rubber.

The emblems should be replaced under warranty. Several people here have had that done. That rear brake light is odd....

I had the A pillar plastic problem, they replace it. I imagine if you pinched the clips tighter together before reinstalling that might fix it?

We had the same problems with the door molding; the dealer said there were a few of the plastic fasteners that were broken and replaced them under warranty. We had a rattle in the ceiling right behind the driver's head and that was another fastener that had broken and was also replaced.

Hey Superkeege,

just had the hood lettering completely replaced as it was fading from sunlight. All done under warranty no questions asked.

Your emblems should be covered under factory warranty. Push the issue with them, or see if there is another dealer in your area who can replace them.
