to sell or not to sell 96 disco

I have a 96 disco with a dead tranny. 119 k on the clock.body in good condition except for some rust by the rear tire fender on the inside. Did the head gasket job last year Ouch. can repair for about 1400-1500 bucks.
Has the usual electric woes, but drives pretty solidly. Cannot budge the low gear shifter at all. The problem is we love this car

I would do the repair...its a freakin Land Rover, she deserves the help.....I would think you could swing 5k on a selling price high point, though...depends on if you have buyers or not...

I would get ahold of Will at www.roverguy.com he usually has a few Transmission laying around for $500 - $1000 depending on how used it is.
