Transmission Fluid Warning on 2004 Disco

My transmission fluid temprature warning light has been coming on quite often in the past week. It has been cold and snowy, didnt know if all the snow driving overworks the transmission a little or if this is normal. if anyone else has had this problem let me know.

check your fluid... pain in the butt to do, but you will need to do so.
