Upgrading navigation and stereo

I'm going to try and keep this short, here is my question. I have an '05 rr and I want to upgrade the stereo/navi so I can use an mp3 player and use sirius. I saw what looked like the proper equip on bimmer.com. The stuff they had was bmw equip. Does anyone know what is really involved with an upgrade like that? And is it as simple as unplugging the exsisting system and plugging in the new one? Any info would be great.

I just bought a 04 land rover and upgraded the stereo and the navigation systems and one you upgrade the stereo your able to add ex and the ipod adapters. I bought both the stereo and the gps unit from bimmernav and it really is easy to to. and the reason fro the bmw parts is because most of the electronics are made by the same manufacture "I beleave"
