Anyone out there installed the Rasta hidden winch tray? Interested to know if it does anything to the integrity of the front end especially if there is an impact? I Love the clean look of it

I got myself stuck in the mud a while back. Granted, it was mostly due to my ****-poor driving, but I wished I had a winch. Would the power puller/ come-along be as effective?

I have a Warn 9000 for the former and paid about $750. To date, it's been an investment in insurance only, but the day is coming when I'll use it, I have no doubt.

Looks like you've also got the ARB bumper. Can I mount the warn sans new bumper?

The power puller has a 4 ton drag pull rating so I would say yes. Would you be more tired after? That would be yes also.

Not without a winch tray of some sort that mounts to the frame, such as the Rasta hidden winch mount.

Personally, I really like the clean look of the hidden winch mount, but I don't like the functionality of it. Getting the winchline wrapped on the drum properly is CRITICAL to safe and effective winching, and with a hidden mount, it's not easy to do it properly.

So with that being said, if you didn't want to buy the ARB bumper, nor the Rasta, which way would you go?

There is nothing on the market that really "does it" for me, so I have taken the economical approach for now.

I think there is an OEM kit that allows you to mount a warn on the LR3 without a new bumper, no idea about the cost, but I went with the ARB option. I had some damage to my OEM bumper and needed to either replace it or get an ARB and I chose the bullet-proof option.
