Another update.

This last fill up was around 80 miles of driving in City and the remaining was Highway miles from Cincinnati to Cambridge Ohio.

239 Miles (and still had 1/4 tank left)

14.84 Gallons of fuel to fill it up.

16.11 MPG, not bad since the Highway miles were at 67 MPH on the cruise. Up and down the rolling hills in Ohio it only lost 1 MPH going up the hills, but rebounded fast.

I also forgot to mention that other than the 300 lbs front bumper and the RTE Running boards, I also had around 250 lbs of luggage and tools in the back.

I know I am impressed.

The real test will be tomorrow....

Cambridge OH to Cincinnati pulling my new 7x12 Enclosed trailer 2300lbs with around 1200lbs of stuff inside it...

If I make it on one tank of fuel I will be very happy.

Well for those of you who are following this thread... a quick update... I drove to Cincinnati from Cambridge, but had to leave the trailer due to the nasty weather. As it was I almost got hit by a pickup that wanted my line real bad...

Despite all the nasty weather and bad driving conditions (stop and go, driving through snow 4 inches deep and slush and stopping for coffee and then again for lunch)... I still put on 168 Miles on 10.94 Gallons or 15.36 MPG Not to bad considering.

Hi Joey;

I am very interested in your findings with PowerChip as I have been considering them too; the only other one is RPI out of the UK and they are over twice as much. So, if this works great for your engine (as we have similar setups) I will follow suit.

I considered RPI as well, but the $1400+ cost was just too much for any benefit that would be any different from what I am getting.

My postings on here are what I am actually getting, so if you were averaging poor fuel economy and the lack of highway power like I was, then you will not regret getting the PowerChip. I will say that if you drive it hard just to see the difference, then you will not notice any fuel improvement. But if you do any highway miles like I do, then it will be very apparent the first time out. Around town I notice a big difference as well, but then again I am also documenting this so others will see how well this either works or doesn't... so far it works.

So Joey, do you still like the mod? Did you figure out your savings since you did it? Thanks Joe

Yes, I still think this mod is worth the money.

Here is an update on fuel economy

151 Miles 10.68 Gallons = 14.14 MPG this was around Cincinnati Driving
187 Miles 12 Gallons = 15.58 MPG Mostly Highway, but some City Driving
145 Miles 15.33 Gallons = 9.46 MPG pulling a 2300# trailer with a little over a 1000# in the trailer for a total of at least 3300# across Ohio.

Basically without the chip I was averaging 12MPG, so I figure it should pay for itself in another couple months.

I have archived up to 19MPG so far, so I can't complain.
