Yes I also have 19" spare. I am changing to 18" rims which is what is prompting me to get new tires. The diameter of stock 19 and 18 should be same. 18 have more sidewall (1/2 inch per side.). I may go with the hanook tires in 265/65/18. If I wait I might try the all new BFG which is... -

As I mentioned in another post. Too much of the work they do is read the code replace the part. They show no sign of thinking or troubleshooting. They did one thing that I consider troubleshooting but unfortunately that did not help. -

I have read some reviews of the BFG and one person said he had some rubbing. At extreme compression. I do like idea of more sidewall. Kevlar sounded nice as I have had a few flats. I do wonder about a larger diameter tire as I know it will change speedo. Not sure how it would affect other... -

I may not have been clear. I am looking at 265 but the 285 tires are also attractive. I thought 18" rims would be the end of it but there are so many choices in tires. I am looking for a more aggressive tire than a touring tire. This is my backup vehicle now and I may start getting it more... -

Does anyone run 165/60/18 tires? I am thinking they will fit easily. I hated the good years that came with car but the all terrain with Kevlar look pretty good in the 165 size. Not sure if I do enough off roading to justify having a spare that has to be jammed in there. Maybe in future. -

Did you have to remove the rubber stops? Does hitch still fit? I am thinking if it is that tough maybe the 265/60/18 size is enough.
