How to convince my sister to buy an LR4 instead of a Honda Odyssey?

I don't understand why you would want to convince her to buy something she says won't meet her needs?

    Help Identifying Big Wire?

Looks like a harness to me, rather than a single wire, but hard to tell from the photo.

    borla or magna

Two things. First, I hard a brain fart on my last post. It's actually a Magnaflow 16896. And yeah, they've gone up a lot. In 2007 I paid about $370 shipped which was competitive with a non-stainless exhaust. That PN is about $680 now.

    borla or magna

I have a borla cat back and like it ok, though it's louder than OE which I don't like, but I bought it because it's stainless.

    fuel issue

Check your gauge. 85 psi is more than the fuel pump will generate. Though I suppose the pump could fail so that it never shuts off, but usually they fail to pump.

Replace/upgrade your battery to earth cables

Just as well as it would have taken a lot longer than 2 days for you to receive them. I don't come on every day. The best way to contact me is via PM so I get an email notification.

    Looking for P/N LR029191

Looks like a local hose shop, like a hydraulic shop, could just make them.

    Possible new LR II questions...

Just an FYI, LRII (actually LR2), isn't the same as a Discovery II. The LR2 is the US designation for the Freelander 2 because Freelanders had such a horrible reputation in the US. Then Land Rover further muddied the waters calling the Discovery 3 & 4 the LR3 & 4 in the US because the Discovery...

    Jeep/Toyota guy needing your knowledge

The 110 engine and drivetrain are basically the same as your '96 disco. The main difference is a different main gearbox and different ignition system. The major difference is the body, obviously, and way fewer electronics.

    Blacked out tail lights

I've never understood the though process that goes in to people who want make something harder to see that keeps people from hitting your car. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid is a pretty good paint remover. If you try it, remove the lights from the car first. It might fog the lights some, but at this...

    K & N Air Filter?

Probably no MAF issues, just the issue of them passing more dirt in to the engine.

    K & N Air Filter?

No idea, but I doubt AC Delco are significantly, if at all, better than OEM or Wix. I do know that the Wix primary market are people for whom downtime = hundreds if not thousands of dollars lost.

    K & N Air Filter?

K&N are only highly recommended if you don't care about more dirt inside your engine. There's absolutely no way you're going to get more air without more dirt by using a different filter in the box. Here're the test results of actual filters in a controlled environment with actual data...

Roof Rack Flooring and EO2 Case mount project.

I just looked at the pricing. Holy smokes! I'll stick with the greater flexibility and ease of use of ratchet straps. Plus I needn't ever worry about an attentive trooper pulling me over for having an unsecured load.

    juddering at 70 mph

If it were the turbo I would think it would start well below 70. But maybe. Another possibility is a u-joint seizing up. They will often cause a judder before they fail enough to be loose, so the only way to rule it out for sure is to remove the propshafts and and move each u-joint to make...

    RG&B Soft Shackle review

I realize I've let myself continue to be sucked in to a silly discussion, as illustrated here: http://www.lrrforums.com/showthread.php?20569-RG-amp-B-Soft-Shackle-review&p=185230#post185230 I apologize to the forums for that. Justin, you accuse me of posting BS, yet in all your writing you...

    RG&B Soft Shackle review

Now this is confusing. Seeing it stated that it's 9mm made it appear that the rope defied standard rope handling guidelines. But looking here: http://lucky8llc.com/Products.aspx?ProductID=7209 it looks like it's actually 16mm, as seen here: If it's actually 16mm (5/8”) as labeled, and assuming...

    RG&B Soft Shackle review

Even taking the quotes entirely out of context as you have, I still don't see how you can arrive at the conclusion that I don't like the industry standard for winch line (which isn't the topic) or that I think people should be protected from misuse (which is impossible to do, even assuming...

    RG&B Soft Shackle review

I have no idea how you reached these two conclusions because I never said, nor implied, either one. It's not about winch line vs. hoisting standards. Rope, no matter what it's made of, is covered by different standards than tools you make from the same rope. Shackles are covered by yet a...

    RG&B Soft Shackle review

There are two important considerations with rope shackles that I think a lot of people don't realize: Their load capacity is, in large part, dependent on what they are attached to which isn't the case when the same material is used as a well designed winch line in a straight line pull. Their...

Ran out of gas, now wont start!?!?!?

It's a 12v pump. But you may have been testing the fuel level sensor. The supply for the pump is the WP (white with purple trace) wire. If it were me, and it has been before, I'd get a couple of lengths of wire and run them from the battery back to the pump. Use an inline 15amp fuse on the pos...
