Have an '03 Discovery. It runs for about 6 minutes then just shuts down. It cranks, but isn't getting any fuel. After about an hour, it will start back up and run for about 6 more minutes, then shuts down again. Does any one have any idea what could be causing this problem? We have replaced the fuel pump and it did not make any difference.

Nope. Check over on that part of the forum and search if someone has had similar problems.

Could be many things so a logical approach is necessary. If you can make sure this is not some electronic fault, some immobilisers shut off fuel after a few minutes if they think they have been spoofed or hot wired. If not this then likely a fuel issue. Check fuel filters and filter casings for cracks or bad gaskets. Make sure the tank is not developing a vacuum. When engine stops immediately try and open the filler. If this is difficult and you hear a hiss you have a blocked breather. Worst of all it could be a high pressure pump problem. As it heats up it could be failing to pump. Dump a bucket of cold water over it when it stops and see if it will restart. Most of these tricks apply to older vehicles, electronics are more likely to be the issue possibly relate to a temperature sensor not giving the correct response to the ECU so also check sensors and connections ,

Best of luck sorting this.
