I managed to get the door open and peeled the plastic away but I can't seem to figure out how to get the lock actuator component out of its socket. I removed the screws and it's loose but it doesnt seem like it'll be able to come out due to the size. It seems that the white portion comes off from the black plastic housing which has the 2 wheels that is supposed to turn to unlock the door and open it from the outside. Is that piece the actuator or is it the piece that you look at from the inside? Are these 2 pieces supposed to come apart?

Thanks Joey for the quick reply. This seems a little more detailed then what I got from the Rave CD. Appreciate it. Will give it a shot on Saturday.

I'm still not having any luck with this door. My main problem now is I can't get it to open again. I'll post some pics to help you get a better idea. I've tried almost every possible pull and push combination out there. Am I missing something? Do I have to actually break the actuator in order for me to get the door to open? I'm pretty sure once I get it open I can remove the lock.

Thanks

- JC

If you have already partially removed the actuator then re closed the door, this may be fun.

I am going to suggest you go visit a local body shop unless you feel like breaking things. They may be able to get this done very easily. I have no recommendations for this, if it were me I would just tear into it. But this isn't my Disco.

Yeah I tried again today and no luck. I've been suggested to just break the actuator apart with a screwdriver and a hammer. If I'm going to replace the actuator, will this work? I'm kind of afraid of breaking anything without fully knowing whether it will open after it's destoyed. Contemplating on paying $300 at the dealership. Should be fun for them=)

What do you think Joey?

I would always try myself before taking it to the dealer and paying $300. After breaking it apart if you can't get it open, then I would still go to a body shop, not the dealer.
