2003 land rover se7 over heats

sorry guys this is like beating the dead horse but just picked up a 02 disco se7 it is over heating like crazy i checked the oil pan no coolant in it but when i start the car in the morning less than a mile it spikes to the red right away bleated it old owner said he changed the water pump and the thermostat but still the same thing i checked the codes and almost all the cylinders are misfiring as well it has only 96k on it and don't want to change the motor on it any suggestions thanks in advance Bora
