Friend has new disc now; removing file still works. I have no significant need to update the maps yet, so I'll be delaying this purchase for a while.

I was just reading about it. Well I've gotta buy one first and check out the files. Unless someone has one they wouldn't mind letting me borrow. I'd shoot a deposit to you to do so...

Has anyone actually upgraded to the 2007-2008 DVD? If so, does the 1791 still work?

Yes, I "fixed" my 07/08 DVD last week, identical file structure, identical procedure, identical results as the 06/07 (well OK, the Denso part # has changed to 464210-9670, but other than that...) 1791 lives on!

LR3 Denso Navigation DVD 2008.1 now Available

A phone call to Navteq at 866-462-8837 reveals that Denso just released a 2008.1 version of the Land Rover LR3 Navigation DVD in January of 2008. This is available at a cost of $199.

Note: The Land Rover/Navteq web site, www.navigation.com only lists the 2007 and earlier versions. You must call to get the latest DVD.

Perhaps. But since according to the customer service person they don't use part numbers for phone orderes, when you call in, the customer service person could not confirm which disk was actually being displayed via the web store. Why take the chance until they update the site with the correct model years and version number of the disk available - 2008.1?

Hello all, n00b here!

I have a 2008 LR3 HSE with an in-service date of August of 2008, so my assumption is that I am going to have the 2008 DVD. Even if I don't, I'm guaranteed to at least have the 2006/2007 version.

SO...after reading through this thread am I correct in my understanding that I am SOL on getting this stupid nav system to enter destinations while driving???

You have the 2007/2008 DVD in your MY08, that disc came out in North America during the last quarter of 2007. The 2008/2009 update just became available a couple of months ago. And yes, you are indeed SOL. :frown:
