Has anyone tried the "fix" on the 2008-2009 version of the software (Denso# 464110-7220)? Thanks!!

I'm curious as well. I have been holding off purchasing because I use the 1791 just about every time I get in. I'm not sure if it would be very pleasant to go without!Anyway, if someone got it to work I would get my order placed.

2008-2009 Navteq DVD

Has anyone tried deleting the file to burn and "fix" the new 2008-2009 DVD and is successful to keep their 1791 alive?

If not, where can I find the 2007-2008 DVD as it's no longer for sale on the update DVD site?

I have a 2005 RR HSE
Thanks

I tried the trick on a new disc, it didn't work. I think they changed file structure on the 2008/9 DVD, so removing the loading.kwi file makes the data unreadable. For 07/08 discs, try eBay.

Sorry to correct you umbertob, but to update this thread, I have the new and latest 2009 disc working great with the 1791 Hack. I did it exactly the same way as all the others too. You can do it yourself, or contact me for more information. PM me and I'll fill you in...

However, if your 1791 does not work... sorry, it will never work. No one's figured out a way to revert to an older firmware. This is just the newest DVD, minus the update file that blocks 1791. So ie. it will let those of us still using the 1791 hack, will be able to continue using it with the latest maps.

Bad News. I got the 1791 to work. However, when you attempt to input an address, it bugs out. Meaning they changed something up on us. I'll be working on it until then. So at this point I cannot make a 1791 enabled 2009 DVD. But there are many people who do not need a 1791-enabled DVD... PM me.

That's interesting, Angas. If that is the case, that means there is another new software load on this DVD, perhaps. There must be something so the existing NAV software won't work, but an upgraded will...

Let us know what you find out. Hopefully it is just a bad burn! But I doubt it.
