bearing noise comming from motor

I have a bearing type noise, almost like bad water pump sound coming from motor at idle, and when driving slow. It started at 200 miles on a new 2008. What can this be? Dealer has it in shop since yesterday trying to figure out.

A metal grinding noise at idle when hot motor and when low speed acceleration. Goes away at higher speeds.

Those things get low on fluid, sometimes, often when stored for a while on dealer lots unsold. Makes a terrible racket when one finally dries out. Don't ask me how I know.

How is this fixed?

re-fill with 30 weight oil. It's kind of rough to get to though.
