Good point about charging system. 116,000 could easily be time for the alternator to go. When mine started to go about 105,000, faults flew all over the place.

No I havent, should I? The battery was no good when I was buying it so they got one directly from LR.

You have to take it to the dealer pretty much. An IIDTool is keyed to a particular VIN.

Take it to the dealer for what? Pretty much any mechanic can check the charging system.

He asked about reading codes. I meant take it to the dealer for a code reading absent of an IIDTool or Faultmate in his possession.

If you can fork out around $200, you can get an iCarsoft diagnostic tool that will read all of the modules for you. It will allow you to work on your own brakes as well.
