Sure it's in Park or Neutral? Seems to me I had to step on the brake pedal and move the shift lever through the range of Park to Drive and Back, to get it to fire or something like that on a similar problem.
Too many cars, too many features.
It could be that the linkage system display on the dash is not synchronized with the shift lever P,R,N,D position. If the dash light does not have a P lit when you are in Park, it's a no start silence.
Sometimes going thru the gears will be enough to get it in sync and lit back up. Crawling under to check linkage, I found a switch above and in back of the linkage lever, that seemed worn, dirty and loose, when fiddled with, I got its connection going.
I also read, dealing with dead battery recovery, you might need to remove both cables from the battery posts and then arc between the positive and negative 'cable' ends with a single jumper cable wire to discharge the system, then reconnect positive and negative cables to posts. However, someone smarter then me should verify that scheme. I don't think I tried it, because of the linkage switch issue fixing my problem.
