I purchased my 05 LR3 HSE back in February and been loving this rig.. It's been through alot of rain and everytime it finish raining, I always check the A-Pillars and everywhere else waiting for the that "dreaded leak" due to the drain tubes. I was told by my dealership that this was addressed during the TSBs on this issue. And it's been good. No leaks Well, today, after a night of rain, I left my driveway and as I turned the corner to go down the alley, I felt water hitting my leg near the foot pedals. And then, water came streaming down from the overhead light unit. So water came down on both A-pilllars and the interior light unit. I called my dealership and they said that it sounds like the drain tubes had failed. So I gotta bring the truck in on Weds for the "leak specialist" to look at. I guess the whole point of my write up is because I have learned so much on this forum that when this happened, I didnt freak out. I had an idea on what may be the cause and it's not that big of a deal. So thanks to you guys, I remained calm and cool and thank goodness I had some Mcdonald's napkins in the car.. very absorbent! We'll see if the dealership would "man up" and honour what they said.. that the drain tubes were address. What sucks is that I dont have anything on paper that indicates that they said that.. strictly verbal from the salesguy.. so I aint holding my breath.

same on my 05 HSE

Same deal... bought mine earlier this year (also 05 HSE, in perfect shape, 30K miles, I LOVE IT) ... no leaks.

Then one day, leaks all down front pass side apillar and out from light unit. Grr.

I pulled mine apart and fixed it... the front pass one was a little clogged.

But at some point I should tear it apart do the 2 rear tubes and front drivers tube I guess.

Keep us posted how it turns out.

Just got back from the dealership. They actually brought in a "Leak" specialist to look at their cars. The guy found all four of my drain tubes were blocked and that Ive been lucky I havent any other type of flooding since I took possession in February. The LR has been exposed to some serious rainstorms but never had a leak. The guy removed all the covers from my A-Pillars to the middle seat handles and the rear seatbelt units and made sure there were no kinks in the tubes after he flushed them out. He also increased the exit boot so that if things get caught in side, it will flow out better... all in all.. after a day in the shop, it cost me $300 Cdn. One year guarantee and I was told that provided that I dont park under a tree during the fall with my sunroof open, I should be goood for the life of the car. If that's the case, money well spent. He also re-did my seal around my sunroof and greased the rails so that it wouldnt get stuck open or leave a crack/gap for additional water seapage.
