Well I got a reply from the UK Disco board that hose goes where I have it and doesn't hook to anything. Got everything back in place and hooked up and the gauge works now but the truck won't start. It starts to sputter and wants to start but no luck. I put more fuel in the tank to the point that it shows a quarter full but still no start so I have pulled the tank back out and am thinking I'm going to go ahead and replace the whole fuel pump assembly. I had replaced just the pump with an aftermarket pump because with over 200k I figured while the tank was out it made sense to replace the pump and it was $125 vs $500+ for a new assembly. I'm open to thoughts if anyone has any.
**Supplemental thought, for anyone who is leery of pulling their tank to replace a pump or sending unit, after doing it twice it's really as simple as 4 connectors, a plug, and six bolts not including the heat shield. There is a vid on you tube that is pretty detailed on pulling the tank and also one on removing the sending units.
